Dentures
Dentures
In order for the prosthesis to become part of the patient, the restored teeth must be as individual as the patient. All our dentures are designed to meet the individual needs of your patients.
Complete and partial dentures generally consist of an acrylic gingiva-coloured base that is used to replace missing soft tissue, to which the denture teeth are firmly attached. Some types of partial and full dentures will have part of the acrylic base supplemented with cobalt chrome alloy. This is an extremely strong alloy that can help add strength to the denture without adding bulk. Partial and full dentures are custom designed to suit the user. We have a wide variety of different coloured pink acrylics and various types and qualities of denture teeth to meet your patients' needs.
Partial dentures
Removable partial dentures (RPD) are appliances used to replace one or more missing teeth but not an entire arch. Partial dentures should restore aesthetics and function, be retentive and stable, distribute the forces of mastication and prevent tooth drift and overeruption. We provide two material options for partial dentures in full acrylic, or acrylic with metal: standard and high impact.
We offer Flexible dentures which are a comfortable, and more aesthetic option and easier for the patient to insert. Flexible dentures are minimally invasive and an optimal choice for patients who may have allergies to acrylic or metals.
Another option for partial dentures is Cast framework which is a metallic or cast option. These are made from a selection of different alloys customised for patients.
Southern Cross Dental offers metal, tooth-coloured or clear clasps.
Full acrylic dentures
For years, our press packed dentures have been the most reliable full dentures, with heat curing that provides the maximum strength and fit for your clients. A full denture is designed to replace teeth in a fully edentulous arch and is retained by the peripheral seal. Full dentures can be immediate or conventional.
Immediate Dentures: Designed to restore or replace missing teeth, an immediate denture is a complete or partial denture inserted on the same day, directly following the removal of natural teeth.
Conventional Dentures: Designed to restore function, aesthetics, and replace the full arch. These are also typically a cost-effective solution.
Implant retained overdentures
An implant-supported denture is supported and attached to implants. Implant-retained overdentures are a simple and cost-effective option for many patients. Implant-supported overdentures greatly assist retention, particularly in the mandibular arch.
Along with a range of Dentures to suit your patient’s needs, Southern Cross Dental also offers additional products such as Precision attachments which are designed to minimise load on abutment teeth, and stabilise overdentures, and repairs and relines which are offered in either a hard or soft make with several options for both minor and major denture repairs.
